Holiday news first:
Happy New Year!
Medical news second:
Last month, no mouth sores, but skin flaking off many pressure points, including all around my bra. So no bra, for now. This has quite a different effect from when I weighed 135 pounds and wore a 34B!
Yesterday, after blood tests showing my immune system was good to go, I had third round of chemo. Routine. And today, I heard from the lab that my CA 125 is now 12, which is excellent news, as it has dropped from 47 to 24 to 12 with the two treatments so far. So.....
Travel news third:
Jay and I will drive down to Berkeley Mon Oct 11. We will housesit for our friends the Middleton/Rochlins on Derby in S Berkeley. Well return to PDX around Nov 20.
This sounds simple, but during that time period, and dependent somewhat on my chemotherapy schedule, also do the following:
1. Potential stop in Ashland for a culture tune up.
2. Potential return to PDX on Oct 17 when Nathan is being honored with a named, endowed chair, only the second one in the neurosurgery department.
3. Nate, Karen and the their 3 little limpets will visit in Berkeley for weekend of Oct 21
4. Pam's 4 sisters will swarm in for sister's weekend of Oct 29
5 Jay will go to PDX on business.
5. Jay returns for 6 days, then flies off to visit 98 yr old mother in Miami.
7. Pam has chemo, either in PDX or bay Area (think John Siebel, Pam's life long friend and an oncologist in SF).
8. Pam and Jay hope to visit friends in Gurneyville, Monteray, and Napa.
So, we're ready to celebrate in our favorite city, what our daughter Abigail calls our "Tuscany".!
Love to all,
Pam
